April 2011 #Readathon: 9am

Posted by Ann Roberts at 6:01 AM

It has been a good first hour…finished my first book…of course, I only had 44 pages to finish. I’ve been reading from the comfort of my Sleep Number adjustable bed. It provides full body support and lets me sit up, lay down, or find a position in between. Oh and the cats have been keeping me company and cheering me on…well if you consider sleeping cheering me on.

  1. Where are you reading from today?
    Dayton OH
  2. Three random facts about me…
    1. I thought I would be more mature at 51 than I feel
    2. I love travel, food, and wine
    3. I’ve been married for almost 26 years to the most amazing man who hasn’t expressed any concern about the fact that he will be taking care of everything today so that I can read
  3. How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours?
That is a hard question to answer. There are 36 samples on my kindle to choose from.
  4. Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)?
I hope to make it the full 24 hours. I am also donating $50 for each book I read.
  5. If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, any advice for people doing this for the first time?
I find it hardest to manage the amount of time that I spend reading blogs and participating with actually reading. I try to limit the time that I spent on the blogging stuff to less than 15 minutes per hour. This year I’m using the alarm on my clock to help

TitleJust Pretending (Montana Mavericks, #35)
Author: Myrna Mackenzie

Time Started: 4/9/2011 0800
Time Completed: 4/9/2011 0833
First they were partners. Then they were pretending to be engaged.

FBI Agent David Hannon's plans for a quiet vacation in his hometown were overturned by a murder investigation. And officer Gretchen Neal wasn't making his nights peaceful, either—especially as the case had them working very closely together....

Comments: I really enjoy the Montana Mavericks series. Set in and near Whitehorn Montana there is intrigue and a great cast of characters. I also love that the series is written and woven together by different authors.

TitleStorming Whitehorn (Montana Mavericks, #36)
Author: Christine Scott
Number of Pages: 10 of 256 (4%)
Time Started: 4/9/2011
Time Completed:
If only he could stay away...

Storm Hunter's return to Whitehorn sent tremors through the town—and shock waves of desire through innocent Jasmine Kincaid Monroe. But then Storm discovered the Monroes might have had something to do with this brother's long-ago disappearance....

Comments: Yes, I need to read this IMMEDIATELY after completing the previous book in the series. And is it possible to come up with a cheesier looking cover?

Number of Books Read: 1
Number of Pages Read: 54
Money Raised: $50
For each book that I read, I will be donating $25 to both Project Read and to Room to Read.

Stopped by to say "hi". I'm going to take some time to eat breakfast -- reading as much as I can. I like the idea of donating to charities, and I'll follow your lead here. Thanks!!
