Readathon Mini Challenge: Readathon Snacks
One aspect of the readathon that I’d like to do better about participating in is the mini challenges. These are opportunities to participate with other readers. My first mini challenge is the Readathon Snacks challenge. For me snacks are an important part of the challenge. It is easy for me to focus on reading as much as I can, particularly since I donate to charity based on what I read, that I can sometimes forget to eat. Usually my Husband takes pretty good care making sure I get fed. For this readathon, my “snack” of choice is Dark Chocolate Cashew Sea Salt Toffee. I didn’t say it was healthy!

Description: Pediatrician Kate McNeal thought she had it all. But the one thing she longed for—the child she'd given up for adoption nine years earlier—remained just out of reach. So when she learned the girl was living with her adoptive father in Jackson Hole, Kate moved her practice lock, stock and stethoscope, to be close to the daughter she'd never forgotten. Joel Dennes used to think he had it all—until tragedy tore his family apart. Now the single dad needs help with his little girl, and the new doctor in town seems like the perfect woman for the job—and soon he thinks she may be the perfect woman for him! But when Kate's secret comes out, will the betrayal be the end of their fairy-tale ending? |
Comments: Picked this book for the Goodreads October Challenge Thread Take Your Teddy Bear to Work Day (October 11). Read a book where a character’s job or occupation plays an important part in the storyline, or a book with a toy on the cover. Being a Pediatrician places Kate directly in the life of the daughter she gave up for adoption and the girl’s widowed father. Kirk does a great job of dealing with emotional issues facing a woman giving a child up for adoption. |
