24 Hour Read-A-Thon: The Next Day

So the phone rings at 10:30am this morning! Really?! Who wasn't paying attention yesterday!!
Hosting dinner tonight to recruit (what I think) is a really cool thing for the #Masquerage Red Ribbon Lounge. The Menu:
Fresh Corn Soup with Roasted Corn Guacamole
Pork Chops with Coconut Sauce
Jasmine Rice
Grilled Carrots
Grilled Pineapple with Butter-Rum Glaze, Marscapone, and Blueberries
I think I'm out of time for a nap!

Nope...Hubby just took over. Tomorrow will be a bear though because we are having a dinner party and I'm going to have to pull my weight.

6. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
How much time posting and reading blogs takes. I haven't done a very good job of keeping up with what my friends are up to.

7. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?
I will definitely make it into a fundraiser. I also think it would be GREAT to get a bunch of friends and do it together. A hotel suite with 24-hour room services sounds SWEET!

And, oh my, it helps to have a great “teacher” help create the new you. This book doesn’t get great reviews at Goodreads.com but I liked that it wasn’t the same old storyline. | |||

Thought I'd share a picture of my reading setup for the day. Sleep number bed tilted so that I can access the computer and read, computer handy, beverages, and plenty of cats to keep me company. My WONDERFUL husband is doing laundry, putting away groceries, and freezing meat. How did I get so lucky!

Off to a slow start this morning. Just finished my first book but hopefully will pick up the pace. John came home from the grocery with lunch (YAY!!) and #Starbucks. I had been planning on taking 15 minute breaks every 3-4 hours for a Wii workout but don’t feel like I’ve gotten much reading accomplished. Think I’ll hold off on those until later.
