Hour 24: Dewey's 24 Hour Read-A-Thon: October 2010

Lesson Learned: Having a big dinner and wine don't mix with a 24 hour readathon. Fell asleep at some point...probably not too long after I started reading again. Just woke up. *sigh*

Congrats to those who made it! I'll plan better next spring!!

I always get off to a slow start. I have appointments Saturday mornings...while I can do some reading...I don't get a lot done. But I'm home now...and going to hunker down for the next few hours. Hoping DH is bringing lunch! :)

NOTE: "Hunker down?" Must be because of the book I'm reading! :)

It's Almost Time! Dewey's 24 Hour Read-A-Thon: October 2010

I can't believe that it is time to start again!! I'm just getting myself set up and ready to go. Thanks to my bookfriend Shaunesay for helping me out with a new template this year.

I'm going to start by finishing the book that I am currently reading. I'm about 61% through 384 pages. So I'll get to count 149 pages in my total page count...but I won't count the book for the readathon.

I've also got a commitment tonight so I'll be missing in action for a few hours around 5:30pm EST. But I'll try to make up for it by reading longer than scheduled 24 hours.

Almost time to get started!

Dewey's 24 Hour Read-A-Thon: October 2010

Once again I have signed up to participate in Dewey's Read-A-Thon on October 9. During the April Read-A-Thon, I read 4 books and 885 pages. This time I'm looking for pledges! $25 for every 500 pages? Per page donation??? Whatever you can afford to give!!! Pledge money collected will be donated to Project READ.

Project READ is a coalition of public and private organizations working together to build skilled workers, strong families, and healthy communities. Through Project READ, over 35 literacy and basic skills providers, 80 schools and tutoring sites in Montgomery, Greene and Preble counties, and over 100 businesses and community partners are committed to building literacy in the Miami Valley.
