Whew! It has been a crazy year. I originally set my Goodreads Reading Challenge goal at 300 books. Last year’s goal was 350 but I didn’t really come anywhere near it. I’ve always had a secret goal of reading 365 books in a year. So when I passed my original 2012 goal of 300 books in late October/early November, I reset my goal to 365. I blame my failure to meet this goal on getting cable TV this year. So how may books did I read in 2012??? 362…so so close.

2012 RRRC's Books I Read for a Challenge CHALLENGE
Okay. I admit this was a weird challenge. Since I’m reading books for the Goodreads Reading Challenge every book I read is for a challenge. So my original goal was 300 books and I finished by reading 362 books.
Goodreads Random Book List Challenge
While this is an interesting challenge, I just couldn’t keep up with it. There were new lists every week.
WorkaDay Reads Ebook Challenge
I signed up for the Human Brain level @ 150 ebooks. Yeah, I know that just seems too easy since the only books I read are ebooks. Of the 362 books that I read this year, 361 were ebooks. The only book that I read that was not an ebook was A Fool's Gold Christmas(Fool's Gold, #10) because I picked it up from Susan Mallery at BEA 2012.
So I’m looking for challenges for 2013. Let me know if you find any interesting ones. I will be participating in the 2013 Goodreads Monthly Reading Challenge as well as the Goodreads Featured Author Challenge. One of the other things that I’ve learned by reading ebooks is that there are a lot of great self-published authors out there. So, I’m thinking of participating in WorkadayReads Self-Publshed Reading Challenge. And I’m going to participate in the 2013 RT Booklovers Convention Challenge. This challenge has four levels:
Level 1: Read 10 books by any of the authors attending the convention. At least 5 should be new to you authors.
Level 2: Level 1 plus read 5 books by a female author and 5 books by a male author.
Level 3: Level 2 plus read 10 books by the authors being honored as part of this celebration (there are currently 21).
Level 4: Level 3 plus read your way around the US States by reading a book that is set in, or by an author from each of the 50 states.
That should keep me pretty busy.
